【Meeting the World at Heian Shrine】

Today, the English and History Walking Club walked to the front of Oten-mon Gate at Heian-jingu shrine.

We checked the year of the shrine’s founding by looking at the Giboshi (decorative metal caps on the bridge railing) and enjoyed browsing stalls selling antique goods.

This time, we also had a chance to interact with visitors from the United States and Portugal.

Both our members and the foreign tourists were very interested in the many Japanese swords on display.

We had a wonderful time on our walk.

【礼拝】

礼拝の朝を迎えました。仏さまや自分自身を見つめる時間です。

俳句の表彰がありました。その句の紹介があり、みんなで情景を思い浮かべました。

日頃のがんばりの表彰です。

校長先生からは、挑戦することの大切さや、自分の可能性が無限であることのお話を聞きました。

「日々、続けることが自分の力になります。そんな姿を仏さまは喜んで見てくださっていますよ。とにかく続けてやってみよう。」とのことでした。

今回の音読タイムは、高学年です。

気持ちを込めて音読できました。

【今日の給食「さばの竜田揚げ」】

・牛乳
・さばの竜田揚げ
・おひたし
・平天の煮つけ

☆ 「さばの竜田揚げ」は、片栗粉をまぶしたさばを２度揚げして調理しました。衣がカリッと仕上がって、すってまぜた生姜がふんわり香っていました。

☆ 「おひたし」は、炒り卵を混ぜたおひたしです。黄色の卵はいろどりのアクセントになっています。白菜やチンゲン菜の野菜は出汁をたっぷり含んでいました。

☆ 「平天の煮つけ」は、練り物が入ることでさらにうま味が豊かな煮物になりました。こんにゃくのプルンとした歯ごたえと、れんこんのホクホクした食感でおいしく仕上がりました。

明日の給食は「プレーンオムレツ」です。お楽しみに！
