【国語】

「すがたをかえる大豆」の学習のまとめとして、すがたを変えて様々な食品になる材料について、調べ学習をしました。

米、麦、とうもろこし、牛乳、魚、いも、などなど・・・

このような材料から一つ選び、おいしく食べる工夫や食品の例を調べて、ノートにメモ書きしました。

次は、メモ書きをもとに、わかりやすくまとめていく予定です。

【体育】

まずは、鬼ごっこで体を温めました。

寒いとき、手をポケットに入れがちですが、みんな元気いっぱいに活動しています。

さて、今日は新しいチームでキックベースを行いました。

攻撃面と守備面と、細かい作戦を話し合いながらチームで協力しています。

特に守備が上手になりました。

どこでアウトにすればいいかをよく考えて動いています。

また、フライキャッチも増えました。

ミスを怖がらず、積極的に試合に参加する姿勢が光っていました。

【English】

Warm up: like the previous classes students were given the opportunity to recite the months to the teachers. “When is your birthday?” Students were reintroduced to the English “My birthday is April 28^th.” I didn’t stress the use of ordinal numbers but some students were already using them effectively. 

We introduced the target model through personalization. “Do you celebrate your birthday?” “Yes, we do!” “How do you celebrate your birthday?” “I went to a yakiniku restaurant.” Sharing happy memories creates new happy memories of English class! 

Then the model was introduced into other holidays and the discussion could begin. “Do you celebrate Halloween in Japan?” “Yes, we do.” “How do you celebrate Halloween in Japan?” “We go to a party.” “We eat snacks.” “We go to USJ.” “How do you celebrate Halloween in America?” “We wear costumes.” “We go trick or treating.”

Discussing the different traditions for Christmas, New Year and even Valentine’s Day creates an excitement to share cultures and an understanding of different beliefs. It is also fun!!
