【朝根っこタイム「大根引き」】

９月に１年生と共に植えた大根の収穫を、朝根っこタイムに行いました。

２週間前に観察した時に、土の上に顔を出している白い大根を見つけて、６年生もこの収穫を楽しみにしていたのではないでしょうか。

さて、どんな大根が育っていたのか・・・。

たくさんの大根が収穫できましたが、少し小さな大根ばかりでした。おそらく間引きをしていなかったことが原因だと考えられます。

しかし、大収穫だったので、６年生も１年生も満足しているようで、自然と笑みがこぼれていました。

この大根は、木曜日の給食「大根と豚肉の煮物」に使われる予定です。

自分たちが収穫した大根だと思うと、さらにおいしさが増すことでしょう。

Warm up: "What do you want for Christmas?" "What do you want to buy with your New Year money?" "What was your best present you received?" Students enjoyed sharing their Christmas wishes and plans to save their money for their big dreams. "I want to buy a dog!" "I want to buy a house!"

Song: The 12 Days of Christmas.

We sang the song day by day using ordinal numbers. On the 1^st day of Christmas my True Love gave to me, a Partridge in a Pear tree.

We finished with a test to see if they remembered all 12 days. The fun part was exchanging papers and checking their neighbor's test. By the end of it all, they knew the song and gifts very, very well!
