Today I taught about infrastructure development in Malawian cities. As one of the sustainable development goals, cities should have good housing systems, transport systems and also need to have good and reliable source of energy.
However, in most Malawian cities these things are lacking making them not good for living. Compared to Japanese cities, Malawian cities do not have strong infrastructure, good transport system and lack things like energy and water making them not sustainable.
This topic, children liked it so much and they asked very sensible questions and some of them even offered good suggestions to some of the challenges our cities are facing.
For the fifth grade, I also added information about African culture specifically on traditional religion.
I shared with children what African religion believes and what are the messengers of their God/gods and them. These messengers include; birds such as wild pegion, snakes more especially puff adders, dreams etc.
Though children seem to have little knowledge about religion, they were very interested and they asked some questions.
Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to have an interaction with these amazing children.
