”What did you eat today?”
The first 10 minutes was a warm up review asking greeting students and asking “how are you? What’s your name? How old are you?” Students enthusiastically raised their hands to show their English skills again and again.
Next, I introduced insect cards to lead in to The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. This story involves the days of the week, fruit and food. “On Monday, he ate one red apple.”
Finishing with food cards, I asked “What did you eat today?” Again, student raised their hands to discuss what they ate for breakfast.
Finally we looked at our color cards and answered the question “What color do you like?” and everyone could share their favorite color. We finished the lesson with a final story of colors and fruit titled “A Beautiful Butterfly” and said our goodbyes using our weekly English.
