【国語】

毎週火曜日は、国語が２時間あります。

１校時の国語は「慣用句」の学習をしました。

体・心に関するもの、動物や植物に関する言葉を含むもの、カタカナで書く言葉が入った慣用句の意味を調べて、学習プリントに書き込んでいます。

意味を確かめた後は、タブレットを使って例文を作り、みんなで共有しました。

明日の国語の時間も、色々な慣用句の意味を調べたり、例文を作ったりする予定です。

５校時の国語の時間は、ドリルを使った漢字の復習と、図書室で本の貸し出しをしました。

「漢字50問チャレンジ」の問題を解きながら、漢字の復習をしています。

また、ドリルに書かれている10個の言葉を、国語辞典に出てくる順番に並びかえるという復習問題にもチャレンジしました。

これからも、色々な問題を解きながら語彙力を高めていきたいです。

Warm up: like the previous classes students were given the opportunity to recite the months to the teachers. "When is your birthday?" Students were reintroduced to the English "My birthday is April 28^th." I didn’t stress the use of ordinal numbers but some students were already using them effectively. 

We introduced the target model through personalization. "Do you celebrate your birthday?" "Yes, we do!" "How do you celebrate your birthday?" "I went to a yakiniku restaurant." Sharing happy memories creates new happy memories of English class! 

Then the model was introduced into other holidays and the discussion could begin. "Do you celebrate Halloween in Japan?" "Yes, we do." "How do you celebrate Halloween in Japan?" "We go to a party." "We eat snacks." "We go to USJ." "How do you celebrate Halloween in America?" "We wear costumes." "We go trick or treating."

Discussing the different traditions for Christmas, New Year and even Valentine’s Day creates an excitement to share cultures and an understanding of different beliefs. It is also fun!!
