【朝根っこタイム・国語「明日の音読タイムに向けて」】

明日の礼拝後の音読タイムは、高学年の担当です。

６年生は芥川龍之介の「蜘蛛の糸」を暗唱します。

毎日、朝の根っこタイムで練習をしていますが、今日はその時間が持てなかったので、急遽、国語の時に練習を行いました。

自信を持って音読できていない人も見られたので、ファイルを見て、少し言葉を覚える時間も持ちました。

明日の音読に少し不安を残しましたが、明日は思い切って発表してくれることでしょう。

朝の根っこタイムでの、漢字大会の練習テストが今週から始まっています。

問題用紙に５問を５分で書き込みます。

昨日のテストでは、時間内に書き終えられない６年生もいましたが、５分の時間内に全部書き切れるように、テストを続けます。

【English】

Warm up: "Who can say the months of the year?" Students were eager to volunteer and show their skill. "When is your birthday?" "My Birthday is April 28^th." Students asked and answered the question in a drill chain around the classroom. "Do you celebrate your birthday?2 "Yes, I do." "How do you celebrate your birthday?" Happy memories flowed as students shared their celebrations.

Target language: "Let’s Celebrate!" We looked at various holidays from America and asked about the same holiday in Japan. "Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in Japan?" "No, we don’t." "Do you celebrate New Year in Japan?" "Yes, we do!" "How do you celebrate New Year in Japan?" Then the students could personalize their English through their own experiences and smile at the happy memories. "We eat Osechi." "We meet family." 

The really fun part was the cultural exchange as I explained the differences in how we celebrate in America. Finally, students practiced the target language with their surrounding neighbors.
