Today, each student had a chance to speak by presenting their one sentence using “I’d like to…” and they all did a great job! We continued to build on previous language learned by starting the class with questions that they have learned in the past two weeks. We then moved on to more polite English forms; this time in the context of ordering food at a restaurant. We looked at the phrases “May I have … please?” and “Could I also have … please?”

The students will research American BBQ and present their orders next week.

【国語「主張と事例」】

「笑うから楽しい」「時計の時間と心の時間」

この２つの説明文では複数の事例を挙げて、筆者の主張に説得力をもたせていました。

今日は「昼休みは長い方がいいか、短い方がいいか」について、「主張と事例」の関係を明確にして自分の考えを書きました。

６年生は、圧倒的に「長い方がいい」ことを支持していました。

「今、遊んでいることが中途半端にならない」「休憩することも大事」「友達との交流を深める大切な時間」「急がなくてもよいから、無言右側歩行も守ることができる」など、実際に経験したことを事例として表し、自分の主張を明確にしていました。
