My name is Mr. Melnyk. It is the most common family name in Ukraine and it means “miller” or “wheat farmer”. Today at school we talked about Ukraine and Russia. We also talked about the geography and weather of Ukraine and Russia and some of the current news from the region.

Today we watched an NHK news clip about the recent events in Ukraine. Then we talked about some of the images and information presented in the video. We also talked about NATO and some new vocabulary words.

【算数】

算数の習熟クラスは「１次式の計算」の学習に入りました。

昨日取り組んだ「項をまとめる」ことに苦戦しています。
同類項どうし、定数項どうしをまとめるのですが、「正負の数」の計算が正確にできないために、間違ってしまうのです。
そこで今日は「正負の数」の計算復習から始めました。

数直線を頭の中に思い描いて、＋の場合は右に移動、－の場合は左に移動、このことが確実にできるまで、繰り返し計算問題に取り組みました。

発展クラスは、方程式の問題に取り組んでいます。

文章題を方程式に表して、Xの値を求める問題です。こちらは、文章を読解して方程式に表すことが難しいようです。

実はこれも「文字と式」の発展学習です。

中学校の数学も、小学校同様に学習の積み重ねが大事であることを、６年生は実感しているのではないかと感じました。
